About me

I have been in the information and communication technology services industry for over 25 years. I operate IT businesses on the Gold and Tweed Coast of Australia — Computer Life and Gold Coast Computers — and internationally through Farming Domains. We provide professional consultations to people, businesses, and computer users in general. Since purchasing my first domain and developing a website back in 2001, I have had a deep interest in the internet and technology.

Clients often ask if I grew up with computers. My answer surprises them: no, I did not. There were limited “green screens” in my high school during the eighties, but they were not particularly appealing. I grew up before computers and the internet were normal parts of society. When older generations told me they grew up before television, I could not grasp it — until I realised I myself grew up before the mainstream internet arrived in Australia during the mid-1990s. That same kind of shift has happened again: smartphones with the first iPhone in 2007, and more recently the rise of mainstream AI with OpenAI’s ChatGPT in 2022.

My background is in music, technology & computers, and local history. I hold recognised professional certifications and standards in IT which I still draw upon today. Attending technology events and educational seminars helps me stay current and competitive.
